Policies

In general, I agree with the ideas behind the Food Blog Code of Ethics, but here are my policies:

On accepting products and posting reviews:

  • I will not agree beforehand to post a positive review of something.  If I like it, I’ll say so.  If I don’t, I’ll say so (or not, at my discretion).
  • If I receive a free product/service/sample, I’ll disclose that when I write up my thoughts on it.
  • If you would like to send me something to try out, please email me at the address in the sidebar.

On content:

  • Almost all of the photos on the site (so far) are my own.  If you’re interested in using the photos, please email me first.  I probably have a higher-quality version than what’s posted here.
  • For photos that aren’t mine, I will do my best to include attribution.  If you are in doubt about the source of a picture, just ask.
  • The articles I write are from my own experience and/or are my own opinions.
  • Some links that I post may be affiliate links, where I receive some “kickback” if you choose to go on and make a purchase or perform some action.  For example, I am a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to amazon.com.  It’s a way for me to try to be compensated for the site without asking for donations or being a part of any network pushing all sorts of ads that I don’t like.  If you are a reader and object to this, please let me know.
  • I participate in the Foodbuzz Featured Publisher program, including some of their ads on the site.  I have no control over the content of those ads, but if you have an issue with them I can pass along your message.

If you have questions or suggestions on the policies here, write me.
